Crack versus Heroin

So a few friends of mine and me where having a large debate about which is worse.

Me and a few others said it was Heroin because injecting yourself with anything must be dangerous with threats if bubbles in your veins and AIDs etc, etc.

But a few others said crack because of what it can do to you over the time that you take it I.E brain damage and no middle bit of your nostrils ( is it called the bridge?)

So after this got very heated, we phoned up our local drug dealer ( and ex-fellow classmate) but he was too out of it with weed to care so i put this question to you dear forumites.

Which is worse Crack or Heroin?

The only person you stand to endanger by taking heroin is yourself, crack cocaine on the other hand can make you suddenly start up and smack someone because the flashing lights tell you to.

From a purely utilitarian standpoint cocaine is worse, from a personal standpoint I'd say they are both about as dangerous as each other, bear in mind that neither of these drugs are never taken in their pure form and so the user might be subject from side effects (EG having your arteries clog up and dying) other than those from the drug itself.

Heroin sounds scarier than crack. Crack is something betwixt your buttcheeks, but a Heroin could be like some freaky musclebound woman.

I would more so cringe at the idea of heroin, simply because it involves those darn needles....I hate those things!

I think it's one of those things where countries that have heroin problems don't have significant crack problems and vice versa.

Here in Australia, there were major heroin problems throughout the '90's. It got to the point that the newspapers were listing the OD toll and the car accident death toll next to each other. But crack is too rare and not even rich partyboy celebrities play with it.

Nowadays, since various turmoils in Afghanistan have interrupted the flow of heroin, Ice, GHB and other 'party-drugs' are the big issues.

Actually, describing marijuana as a gateway drug isn't really inaccurate. If you don't smoke weed I doubt you'll ever do anything more "serious". But, I mean. Ya know. It's just doesn't really matter.

Anyway I think that marijuana is only a gateway drug for those who are predisposed to already taking drugs. It doesn't take more than a half brain to know that drugs can and will in many cases ruin your life, or kill ALOT of your brain cells.

It's only my own observation and opinion though, it could be different, and I wouldn't know as I'm not in that community.
