A story we can learn from.

[One, Two, Middlesboogie]

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway. It just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!

Now, the Moral of the Story:
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

P.S.: The donkey later came back and kicked THE SHIT out of the bastard who tried burying him.

Moral: When you try to cover your ass, it always comes back to get you.

p.s i am against creaulty to animals in any way,shape or form.buring animals ALIVE is certainly a hideous thing to do. i am glad the donkey escaped and i am very glad he kicked the shit out of him. nice one!

salty, I actually think the story was more of a fable and not based on a true story (not saying that such a thing could not happen, en contraire), considering I doubt the donkey would have actively kicked the person. ;) If it was really smart, it would have been a nice donkey, because if as a donkey you kick someone repeatedly, I'd expect the donkey would land up decapitated and sold...

I don't like cruelty either, but I have different ways to define it. Some people start by the mark "if you kill something, you're cruel", which isn't something I believe in. But yes, burying something alive is utter shiznit and totally scanned.

Just for the record, Pretzils, it is a fable; it didn't really happen. Nobody could possibly be sick enough to bury an animal alive and still be stable enough to hold down a job.
