Yesh yesh, a happy thanksgiving to you all! And remember, none of this would have happened if the pilgrims didn't drive the native americans off their own land in the first place.

But all semi-foolishness aside, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Celebrating how they stole the idea of inventing Turkeys from the Natives and then raped them of their maize.

Right?

I don't think any of us in England celebrate it. I haven't had turkey in ages.

It's called the Harvest Festival here, although it is rarely celebrated outside of schools and churches now.

Good. You shouldn't celebrate.

Come to think of it, we shouldn't celebrate it either. It's different from the usual holidays that had a pure, decent moral background. Thanksgiving was never founded on anything "decent." When we were in school, we were taught that the Native Americans and the Pilgrims sat down and had a big, delicious meal, followed by the two groups living in harmony.

Then we grew up. And we still eat turkey for some reason. Which is fine with me, because turkey is delicious. Viva la rape and pillage.

Thanksgiving is giving thanks for the harvest. It is descended from European harvest festivals, it is a harvest festival. However, everyone focuses on that one Thanksgiving in the Plymouth Colony in 1621.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Ugh, mine was horrible. I had to go to my dad's company party with my parents, and spend the entire night with about fifty old people and twice as many toddlers.
I try to remain optimistic though...

But let’s all be grateful that the colonists reserved their massacre of the natives to just that single day.

Well I'm not American, but happy thanks giving.
But it's not realy true that thanks giving in a celebration of killing the native indians is it?
I mean, I was told by others it was inf act celebrating how the natives actually helped them with supplies, and helped them colonise america?
Ok, sorry, I'm confused alot by american history, expecially with their happyness with seperating and indepanding from the English, I mean, weren't they English who just moved?
and seriously, you want to know what would have happened if the America wasn't independant, but was part of the commenwealth, and a coloney of England?
Look at Canada, and they haven't done too badly.

Every thanksgiving I drive out to the reservation and try to rape as many women and children as possible. Then I talk the dumb savages into selling me their homes for next to nothing.

You can see me in action on next weeks episode of "Flip that house!" on TLC. It's full of wacky antics and crying injuns!

God bless America.

That's the story that developed over time as white Americans wanted to whitewash their true history. Thanksgiving is not actually about celebrating the massacre of Native Americans; that's just post-modern humour combined with national guilt.

A couple of centuries can make a big difference to a cultural identity.

Probably true, but the British were being dicks to the Americans at the time.

Damn redcoats learned their lesson good. Now all Bush has to do is threaten them with the wrath of almighty GOD (who only cares about America) and they roll over like good little doggies.
