Beavis, butthead and bad parenting.

Do you know why beavis and butthead got a lawsuit filed against it? It seems as though a five year old was left unsupervised WITH MATCHES(Holy Shit!!!) and she burnt the house down, killing herself on accident. Anyway, the parents sue convinced that beavis and butthead incensed the child to burn, since buttthead often utterred the anthemic chant "Fire!Fire!", even thogh they do nt have cable. This led to me to observe a few things. 1 The decline of B and b signified the decline of MTV, as they showed shitty shows, shied away from music videos, and gave B and b the shaft, sometimes it was on at midnight! From 7 at nite to 12! 2 People blame things for their problems, most often media, when it is really their fault. For once, could people own up to their actions instead of blaming them on a convieniet scapegoat? What is wrong in a society when mature rated shows are used to as sacrifices to make everyone think that it wasn't their fault? I loathe censorship, but in truth i loathe the motives behind it even more!

Beavis and Butthead even have a disclaimer at the beginning of each show, warning people not to copy what Beavis or Butthead do. The loss of the girl's life is tragic, but I can't say I have a great deal of sympathy for the parents who allowed their child to watch such tasteless programming.

Hold up! I'm a beavis and butthead fan and i have been watching since i was 9, you do know there is a warning before the program saying don't try this at home, right? Also little kids should'nt be watching it in the first place it's the stupid parent's fault.

Sad

The parents were idiots and shouldn't have left the kid with matches, or alone, in the first place. I mean, if anything the parents should be going to jail because it's against the law to leave children (I belive under the age of 12) unsurpervised in a home.Idiotic parents.

Dude, syd, the little girl could not have possibly been watching beavis and butthead. The family(I use the word loosely) didn't get MTV. The disclaimer came on after the incident.

I know it's illegal to leave young children alone anywhere with laws. The child's parents should be in prison right now for murder, manslaughter at the least.

Ooook then

Yeh...its awful etc. But we dont know the whole story...Tabloids usually skip things to get to the meat inside and they do have a tendency to make people look like shits and stuff. The parents may have had to do something else...important and stuff...obviously...this is probably not correct and they probably just left the kid cos they couldn't be bothered to take a lil 5 yr old wiv them evrywhere...but you shunt judge until u kn0 the full story...

This topic was active four days ago. Andrea was the one who dragged it up.

Although....the discussion was obviously quite finished...
