Did anybody buy the playable Oddworld Stranger Demo, it came free with one of the PS2 Magazines, if so, can anyone tell me what it's like?

I've seen this Thread before. Also, how can it be playble on the PS2,when Strangers Wrath is not on the PS2. The're must be a proof.

I'd love to post this news on OddBlog, but Oddish brings up a valid point. Development of the PS2 version was scrapped early on, so how a demo could be out is unbelievable.

I think it's just a mistake. We might see AA pop-up to tell us whats going on.

I instantly thought upon seeing this thread that it would be in some Xbox magazine, or general gaming magazine. But once I saw that you were saying it was in a PS2 magazine, it had to be false

However, it would be awesome to see a demo of the game soon. Considering the game is set for release in January, something similar should appear soon.

It's in a manx (Isle of Man Culture) shop we have over here called 'Shopright, I didn't hear it, I saw it! It's also in Safeways/Morrisons

I don't know ... sounds kind of weird to port Stranger over to a demo. And if they did port it over to a PS2 demo ... they would have released an Xbox demo as well. Also, usually the official US magazines get the demos first, and Europe doesn't get it until later.

Running a quick search through Google doesn't bring up anything either. And there would be a mention of it if it was out already.

I'm guessing it's probably just a trailer ... demo discs usually have trailers along with playable demos.

Other than that ... if you can post a pic of the magazine cover as proof, then we might have something more concrete to go on [unless Alf clears it up for us first].

I have already told you (Or at least I think I have, unles tis was on Oddworld Junkie) that I don't have it! I know someone that has it, but they are all playable demo's, Stranger ebing one of them!

I'm sorry, but if he actually thinks there is a PS2 demo of Stranger, he cannot be that reliable. I don't mean to offend anybody, but it is common knowledge that the PS2 version of the game has not even been started and never will be. Fuzzle Guy's friend is either confused or lying about its existence. I do not blame Fuzzle Guy for the misinformation.

Hey ladies and gents, I think AbeBabe is probably right. We don't have any playable demos out yet, for any console, just CG clips and that sort of thing. If you are looking for these, try the Gamestar: November, OXM: Dec and keep an eye out for EGM.... and hopefully even more to come as we are getting closer to launch!!!! Soooo exciting!!!!

It's exclusive to the xbox. The PS2 version was cancelled some time ago.

because EA found out it was impossible to succesfully convert the game for the playstation 2 platform... so they cancelled it
