No, all the Outlaws in the game are the same species. There's just a tremendous amount of variation within the species, even within the same family, as in the case of Jo' Mamma and her children.
That seems amazingly lazy on OWI's part.

Then again, who's to say that if Raider and McBoomBoom were the result of cross-breeding, that the others weren't as well? Because I refuse to believe that the Bootys particular 'variation' of outlaw has any relation to your standard hump-back minion. I just cannot except that as even being probable.

It's not laziness. They envisioned a single Outlaw race and then made the effort to create much more variation within the species than they've done with any race before.

I'd really like to see Abe and Munch again, but I'd also like to see another character. I wouldn't like to see Stranger again for a while, but grubbs would be a nice treat.

Yeah, it'd be good to have Elum back, his time in the Quintology was too brief. But what was that movie/set of pics with a herd of Elum being ridden by Mudokons through a forest? Was it planned that in MO/ME we'd see Elum riders?

I think that streaming video with the Elum riders was a promo for Hand of Odd, not MO/ME.

Ah, thanks for that. I didn't know which it was from, since I first found it in with some MO preview vids and some Hand of Odd vids.

Is Hand of Odd still in OWI's thoughts or have they abandoned it? I remember hearing about it a couple of years ago and was really excited about it. But since then nothings really come from it. Oh well, at least there's two pages of it in the art book.

I think the Hand of Odd would have been great, but i don't know if OWI is going to make it. But I hope the do.

There were elums in MO. the last level, on the Vykkerz' tables. Headless and skinned, but unmistakably elums. I would like to see them back, perhaps with some variation on mudarchers and tomahawkers riding them.

And, on outlaws, I can accept the varying hunchbacked outlaws to be of the sam species, but no way are the yellow headed and big "hammerjaw" outlaws to be the same. No way.

Abe and the other mudokons are sexless? Why are they wearing loincloths? What are they hiding?

They may be sexless, but where do you think they dispose of waste? That is the exact reason they wear loincloths... To hide their, ummmm, cloaca.

There are AE characters that we never saw again, and they were cool! Flying and crawling sligs, fleeches, slurgs, Greeters... I want to see them again. And the blind mudokons, they seemed to just disappear, and I don't think that just removing the eyelid stitches is enough for them to see again.

I also want elums back.

I also want elums back. Why were there no elums in SW? It was a western style game wasn't it? And what are elums if not Oddworld's horses? Did anyone else notice this?

I agree with bullet magnet, the AE characters are Great! I was hoping to see them again in MO. Expecialy flying sligs. I don't understand why OWI just took them away. They were such awesome guys!

Limitations of the characters as an enemy in a 3D environment, I guess.

There probably just wasn't a need or desire for one in the game. Stranger certainly didn't need one. Outlaws on horseback would have been neat, though. I'd be surprised if that idea didn't crop up in someone's mind, so it was likely rejected for a reason.

maybe because Lorne didn't want a "noble" beast such as the Elum to be ridden on by another creature then a Mudokon

The Elum was more of a cute character, I think they should have had a more vicious character if outlaws would have rode horse, an Elum would be too friendly

Don't you think?

Funnily enough, that's probably OANST's most relevent post in GD for a while. Outlaws on Elum-back could have had the reverse effect, highlighting how mean the Outlaws are.

Really? I could imagen actually.

The only ones I know that could be a riding creature for the industrials would be the Kinto slaves. Mugs on the other hand, I don't think their designed for riding, but the Meetles are.
