My maths teacher was very excited his birthday was finally going to be on 6-6-6, until I pointed out the original Mark of the Beast was 616, corresponding to an earlier spelling of Nero's name, as alluded to by SeaRex. The number has nothing to do with the Devil. It's a cleverly-disguised bash at Nero. Take that!

I hear something big and scary could happen in 2010, or something like that, I forget. It was something to do with completion of a paritucular time cycle, take thousands of years for the full circle to reach it's end.

Actually the basics comes from the Bible. Sure people can get "hypnoziced" by watching movies that are related to future things, but that instead doesn't mean it's (the movie's) beliefs are true.

Personaly I believe that there is a time when this will hapen, but the question is; when? I don't know, but I feel that we are close to the end, but then it's a matter of how close it is.

That jus' what I think, so don't get mad or angry at me if this annoys you guys - jus' opinions n' thoughts

Look, if we're talking about non-profecised end-of-the-world just wait until the magnetic pole shifts {the south pole is already creeping north, and you can find this out pretty easily}. Once the earth's magnetic field begins to decay in order to reverse itself, the massive surge in UV radiation should wipe out most life... unless it can adapt pretty damn quickly. And you can expect the field to regain full strength in... oh, around 1000 years.

Exactly what I was thinking.

The only bad effects of the magnetic poles reversing would be so much as migrating animals going off course. And even then they would adapt in good time.

Life will always survive. There's life in volcanic craters and high temperature sea fumers {can't remember their real name}.
The problem is, Humans aren't all that great at survival. The effect of no EM field would be several fold worse than no ozone layer, in terms of radiation. You've also got charged particals raining down all over the earth's surface every solar storm. That's gonna cause some major problems to technology.

Now I've no doubt we'll survive it, but it's gonna cause some major changes... like making compasses point the other way, and forcing us to not go outside too much.

Oh god forbid our compasses don't point in the wrong direction! That could actually be a big problem for a lot of people. I won't mind going outsde as much, I don't go outside that much these days anyway.

6/6/6 might be Bin Laden next attack on United Kingdom or America. I think!! Why else is he appearing on TV again. To gather his followers to plan for an invasion and to prove that he is still around. It will be end of the world if America is gone. It one of the wealthiest countries.

They are already recovering from shock. Security is so tight cant even get a BLOOMING visa to work there. bleh!!!

I disagree. We lived without america for how long until discovery? About more than 1000 years. So to me. America going bye bye isn't that much of a big deal.

As for the 6/6/6 thing, it's just stupid. NO ONE CAN PREDICT WHEN THE END OF THE WORLD WILL COME. It's a fact. It doesn't matter who says it. Heck it could be tomorrow. Maybe a minute from now? or maybe 3,500 years from now. I don't believe in 6/6/6. That's all i'm saying. :/
