Well, some say that he's blue cuz he's "the chosen one" or something like that, but Alf said he held Paramite juice in his mouth for five minutes as a dare(or something like that), so I don't really know which to believe. I'm leaning towards the "chosen one" theory, though.

Shouldn't this be in General Disscussion?

I don't think it's because he held paramite juice in his mouth. I think that Alf was drunk when he wrote that. I think it's because he's the chosen one.

Primarily, I believe the 'chosen one' theory, although I also believe the 'depressed' theory.

As for the 'paramite juice' theory, well, we'll just leave Alf on his own on that one.

If you have been wathing the intro of Abe's Oddysee you will notice that they show a scene where all these BLUE MUDOKONS are pulling levers.

Again if you were watching the intro of Abes Oddysee you will noticed that abe is a "happy floor waxer" who "thought he had a good job" and was employee of the year.

So by the proccess of elimination i guess Alf was right with the parimite juice theory

Perhaps you are right ODDBODD because i too remeber seeing the other mudokons with blue colored skin. Funny though that the BigFace was not blue nor the natives in the ending movie. And in AE there were no blue mudokons other then Abe and the same with MO. Perhaps it was the lighting in rupture farms that gave them that color. And im sure not all of the had been through a Paramite juice bet. And yes we do know that Abe was not depressed because he liked his job. I just think it was the lighting of rupture farms.

So i go with the chosen one theory.

The other Mudokons in RuptureFarms could be depressed, because let's face it, they've got boring jobs, pulling levers. However, it seems once they're employed to clean up grafitti they chear up, perhaps because they enjoy reading it.

This means that Abe could then easily be the Chosen One because of his blue skin. Any other blue-skinned Mudokons before him were probably set on the test of Scrabania and Paramonia, but failed miserably by chickening out. They wouldn't have died, because the Big Face would have given them the mark of infinity to keep them resurrecting.

But I don't think it's because baby be was dropped in blue dye. Why's his ponytail not blue?

If all these blue lever pullers are in fact failing heroes then why do they appear all in the same room. Is this coincidence or are they put into a speacial failure department where all these failing muds have to pull levers. (sarcasm)

I think Oddworld needed to make him blue in order for players to know him from the other muds...

Over the past little while I've been noticing thousands of flaws in the oddworld characters, plot, scenary, everything...

And I think the rupture farm's muds are just another mess up....

Maybe Muds are similar to humans, and you can different skin colours from different areas.
That could explain why Abe has blue skin = he comes from a different region, and all the other Muds have green skin, 'cause they come from a closer area.
That could also explain the other blue skinned Muds, they could have come from the smae area/tribe/whatever that Abe comes from, but he doesn't know it.

It make sense, of a sort......

No, the fact that there is Sam, the Mud "queen" so to speak, gives all the eggs. That means all the Muds are brothers, but I don't really see how the muds could all be different colors...

It's because over the many generations that entire families of Mudokons were enslaved and bred with, by Rupturefarms, they started to evolve in their own way and their genes started to develop a darker skin where they had been absent from others of their kind for so many generations.

Basically, what I'm saying is that where they'd been kept apart, their evolution had taken a different path so therefore skin = different colour.

If they'd been separated for even longer, and Abe hadn't of rescued them all to join the natural ecosystem again, who knows what other 'mutations' the slaves may have developed/what they've developed already that we don't know about yet.

Iantiger you put up a interesting Theory but you must realize that evolution takes many millions of years. Even the slightest thing like a color difference in the skin can take millions of years and i dont think RF has been around that long.

NOPE THAT IS STILL WRONG... Sorry to be a bit of a downer but there has to be an opposition. If this is a case of evolution that would mean that more and more blue muds will be developed by Sam, and since there is not one blue mud in AE and MO i guess that theory is up the AH

Well I think the main reason Abe is blue is because partly he's the choosen one and partly because he's really depressed. I mean if you where told you where the savior of your race and that you had to go through all sorts of different trials, etc. then I don't think you'd be to happy. Even if you where you would soon be screaming, crying, and running at the same time as you escaped from a pack of angry Paramites. Abe's life is really stressfull, he's always on the move (even though all Mudokon tribes are) to new places with more problems that are up to him to solve...

I think it is clear that inorder to distinguish Abe the chosen one of the Muds he has a different color. I dont see how anything else may accure to change it otherwise,he does mention that he is stressed in MO but i dont see how that would change the fact that the color is to distinguish him from others.
